At Prose Orthodontics, we recognize that Halloween can be a scary time for teeth!
That’s why during Orthodontic Health Month we are taking the time to discuss some tips and advice to help keep teeth safe from decay, and protect braces, clear aligners and other orthodontic appliances.
Stay away from hard, sticky, crunchy or chewy candy and snacks. Some of these are:
Hard or chewy candies
Caramel
Licorice
Taffy
Bubblegum (even the sugarless kind)
Jelly beans
However, all this does not mean that you cannot enjoy Halloween candy.
There are many delicious sweet choices that are “braces friendly”. Those in orthodontic treatment can indulge by eating soft, nut-free candies, soft candy bars, peppermint patties, peanut butter cups or chocolates that melt in the mouth and require no chewing.
We are also buying back your Halloween candy in exchange for Rewards Points!
If you have any questions please ask. We are here to keep your braces in tip-top shape!
There’s a reason Dr. Prose went to additional years of highly competitive orthodontic school... to learn and perfect his ability in the specialty of orthodontics.
A general dentist is ideal for providing regular oral health check-ups, comparable to your family doctor. Many dentists offer orthodontic treatment plans, but have not been trained or educated in the area.
Getting board certified is the final step in a long and comprehensive journey. To become certified, Dr. Prose tackled hundreds of extra hours of studying and training. Next, he had to prove (through testing) that he had the skills, knowledge, and expert judgement to provide premium patient care.
Check out this video from the American Board of Orthodontics to learn more about why Dr. Prose became board certified.
